SheBuilds is Lovable's hackathon initiative designed to empower women in tech by helping them build real AI-powered applications. The program welcomes both experienced coders and complete beginners.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering for SheBuilds covers two key areas. You can choose to contribute to either or both:

1. Event Organization

Responsibilities include:

  • Arranging venue and facilities
  • Coordinating food and beverages
  • Getting banners and information materials printed and positioned
  • Promoting event posts on social media
  • Providing boots-on-ground support at the venue on event day

2. Participant Support

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping women participants set up their Lovable accounts
  • Answering technical questions
  • Troubleshooting technical issues during the event

How to Become a Volunteer

Important: To volunteer, you must be an active Lovable.dev user with at least one published app, website, or content built on it.
  1. Visit https://lovable.dev/invite/NRFXUEI and create your free account — this link gives you 10 Lovable credits to start building right away.
  2. Experiment with building a simple app or website.
  3. Publish your creation.
  4. Sign up as a volunteer at https://shebuilds-iwd-volunteer.lovable.app. Make sure to read the section "Two Ways to Contribute › Host a 3-Hour In-Person Event Free of Charge to Participants on Sunday, March 8, 2026" during sign-up.
  5. Wait for approval from the Lovable community team.
  6. Get ready to support women builders on March 8, 2026!

The Lovable community managers will review your application by:

  • Checking your Lovable.dev account for published projects
  • Reviewing your social media presence for prior engagement with Lovable
  • Verifying your commitment to supporting the community

Event Day Agenda (3-Hour Format)

As an Event Host, you will facilitate the event according to this structured agenda. Adapt timing to fit your group while keeping the overall structure so every participant gets the full experience.

Arrival & Connection 30 min

Intent: Create a welcoming, low-pressure environment where everyone feels comfortable participating and set the tone for community.

Intent: Anchor the day in purpose and shared momentum.

Expanding Who Builds 20 min

Intent: Help participants see themselves as builders and contributors, regardless of background or experience.

  • Video: Women & AI (5 minutes)
  • Group reflection and conversation
Get Ready to Build 16 min

Intent: Remove friction and build confidence before people start building.

  • Login or create a Lovable account
  • Video: Intro to Lovable
  • Building Mindset:
    • Share what you're learning, tips, etc.
    • Ask for help
    • Get feedback
    • No judgment, just building
  • Share support resources
Build → Publish. Together. 90 min

Intent: Confidence through action and shared progress.

Goal: Everyone leaves having published something (or very close).
  • Participants build independently or together, and collaboratively
  • Host encourages:
    • Asking questions to the room
    • Sharing learnings and quick wins
    • Pairing up or working side-by-side if helpful
  • Optional: voluntary screen sharing / live build share
Share, Celebrate, Connect, Go Forward a Builder 30 min

Intent: Celebrate participation and strengthen community connections.

  • Submit project links to SheBuilds IWD showcase page
  • Build share (depending on group size):
    • What you built
    • One thing you learned
    • One moment that surprised you
  • Social Moment:
    • Post your build on social media
